Carlos Alcaraz has been one of the most outstanding players in recent years. The Spaniard became the youngest year-end No.1 at just 19 and has been breaking several records. With a recent excellent display that saw him win his maiden French Open, ATP legend Tommy Haas has praised him for his incredible achievements at his age.
The 21-year-old took the tennis world by surprise after winning the US Open in 2022. He replicated the same feat the next year but this time against Novak Djokovic in Wimbledon beating him in five sets. Despite a poor start this season, the Spaniard won his first title at Indian Wells beating Jannik Sinner en route to the final.

Weeks before the French Open, Alcaraz suffered a forearm injury that saw him miss the Monte Carlo Masters and Barcelona Open. He failed to defend his Madrid Open and eventually withdrew from the Italian Open. However, he returned to the court in Paris and also defeated Sinner again in the semifinals.

He went on to win the finals in five sets, making him the youngest player to win three Grand Slam events on three different surfaces.
It is something very positive for this sport to have him because you know that he is capable of anything and you like to see him play. It is exciting to see him on a court because he has a wide range of resources in his game. He won in Indian Wells the last two years and gave a great show combining the movements of Federer, the defensive ability of Nadal or the energy of Djokovic.

Alcaraz is hoping to bounce back in Wimbledon after failing to defend his Queen’s Club Championship title last week. The 3-time Grand Slam winner exited in the second round of the competition, dropping to No.3 in the ATP rankings.
Tommy Haas admits Juan Carlos Ferrero has helped Carlos Alcaraz evolve over the years
Carlos Alcaraz wouldn’t have been one of the best young players of the sport if it hadn’t been for Juan Carlos Ferrero. The experienced coach has improved the youngster’s game and has helped him achieve three major titles in the process.

Tommy Haas believes that Carlos Ferrero has been a major influence on Alcaraz. He added that he has to see what happens in the next fifteen years to compare Alcaraz to the Big 3.
He has helped Alcaraz a lot to improve and evolve his game. We will see what happens in fifteen years. Then they can be compared to the 'Big 3' and we will know what they have been able to win.Tommy Haas added
Alcaraz will play in the Paris Olympics after Wimbledon. The Spaniard will partner with Rafael Nadal in the men’s doubles category at the Olympics.
