Three times NASCAR Cup champion Tony Stewart is one of the most accomplished racers in the stock car racing history and the Hall of Famer has made contribution only a few could match. The 2024 season marked the end of the last direct connection Stewart had with the sport as his team Stewart Haas Racing, sold its charters and ceased operations.
Recently the veteran talked about the things he misses the most from his NASCAR days, via his appearance in the Sullivan Old Town BBQ. Tony Stewart asserted that it’s not racing, but the people that has stood beside him that he misses the most from his NASCAR days. He explained his point by highlighting how the technology and racing evolves in the sport, but people remain the same.
With SHR ceasing operations, and with the team not having any direct link to the sport other that potential broadcasting gig, he is going miss the people part more. But he has his new family with wife Leah to take care of and the a new born baby to raise. He has a new and wholesome life ahead of him.
Tony Stewart expects NASCAR to last long-time
During the same show, Tony Stewart talked about the future of the sport with NASCAR being resilient on the direction. Though he isn’t a big fan of it, and understand how it works after being part of the sport when it was at its peak, he is confident that sport is on the path for a long stay.
The comments from Tony Stewart shows he still cares a lot about the sport and has some hot takes about it, as he always does. It would be interesting to see if the veteran’s prediction about the sports future is going to be the right one.
