The Big 3 of men’s tennis, Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic, and Rafael Nadal dominated the sport for most of the 2000s. No male player had won more than 14 Grand Slams until they all broke the record and embarked on new journeys to win 20, 24 and 22 Majors, respectively. The only member of the Big 3 that’s going to feature in 2025 will be Djokovic.
However, they have quite left the stage for youngsters like Carlos Alcaraz to flourish. Alcaraz recently became the youngest player in 32 years to win the US Open, and also became the youngest ever year-end World No.1 in the ATP rankings, just aged 19 years and four months (back in 2022).
This season, he continued to lay new ground records in the sport, and there are more to achieve in 2025. Here, we take a look at the Top 3 records the Spaniard can break next season.
Youngest player to achieve a Career Slam
This year, Alcaraz hit form after beating Daniil Medvedev in March to win the Indian Wells Masters. He continued with the momentum and, in June, became the youngest man to win Grand Slam titles on all three surfaces (hard, grass, and clay) after beating Alexander Zverev to win the French Open. The 21-year-old had won his first career Slam at the US Open in 2022 and earned his second at the 2023 Wimbledon.
Alcaraz is now an Australian Open victory away from becoming the youngest player to win a Career Slam. He can accomplish this feat in 2025 when the major event starts on January 12. He will also be the youngest man to reach the historical feat, breaking Nadal’s record which he achieved at the age of 24 at the 2010 US Open.
Youngest player to win five Grand Slam titles
This will be Alcaraz’s most significant record, which may last for a generation. If the 21-year-old wins the 2025 Australian Open, he will become the first person to ever win five Slam titles before his 22nd birthday. The player who currently holds the record is Rafael Nadal, who won his fifth Slam at 2008 Wimbledon at the age of 22.

Despite Federer’s dominance in the early 2000s, he claimed his fifth major at the 2005 Wimbledon at just 23 years. While Djokovic was 25 when he reached the feat at the 2012 Australian Open. Alcaraz, who has yet to reach the Australian Open final in his career, will have to win the title in 2025 to earn the record.
Win the Wimbledon Championship for third straight year
Carlos Alcaraz finished the 2024 season as World No.3 with an impressive 53-13 record. He claimed four titles, including two Grand Slam wins. One of them was the Wimbledon title which he won after defeating Djokovic in straight sets. The Spaniard had triumphed at the SW19 in 2023 after beating the same opponent in a five-set thriller.
He will look forward to triumphing at the All England Club in 2025. If he does achieve that, he will become the first Spanish player to win three in a row. He will also match the likes of Bjorn Borg, Pete Sampras, Federer, and Djokovic in winning three straight titles at Wimbledon.
