Top 5 Most embarrassing WWE moments (via WWE)
2024 was one of, if not the best, years for professional wrestling and WWE. The promotion put on incredible matches, compelling storylines, and unforgettable moments. However, no year of wrestling can be free from mistakes, and fans often remember embarrassing WWE moments for a long time to come.
No matter how polished a WWE superstar may be or the experience that they have, nobody is free from the occasional botch, wardrobe malfunction, or any other mishap. While some of these moments are quite funny, others entirely ruin matches and important moments.
With that said, here are the five most embarrassing WWE moments that took place in 2024.
5. Rhea Ripley’s wardrobe malfunction at SummerSlam
SummerSlam 2024 was truly a terrible night for Rhea Ripley. She challenged Liv Morgan for the Women’s World Championship to win back the title she had never lost in the first place. Firstly, she dislocated her shoulder during the match, which she had to pop back in forcefully. She somehow managed to fight back, but then her partner, Dominik Mysterio, turned on her and cost her the match.

Unfortunately for her, Rhea Ripley also suffered a wardrobe malfunction at the Biggest Party of the Summer. During the match, The Eradicator’s tights got pulled down, revealing her underwear to the cameras. It took a few seconds for the Australian to notice this and finally pull up her ring gear.
4. Jade Cargill slips off the ropes at Clash at the Castle (and many other botches)
Nobody in the wrestling world can deny Jade Cargill‘s magnificent presentation and her aura on the main roster. However, The Storm is still learning to run the ropes and is not so fluid inside the ring. This has caused her to botch quite often during her PLE matches, the most infamous of which came at Clash at the Castle.

During the tag team triple threat, Cargill attempted a springboard crossbody to jump into the ring. However, she slipped and fell awkwardly on the canvas. As a result, she had to improvise by hitting Shayna Baszler with a superplex. In her defense, reports stated that the ropes were extremely slippery that day. Even Damian Priest suffered a botch on the ropes later in the night during his match against Drew McIntyre.
3. Tonga Loa fails to pull the referee out of the ring during his debut at Backlash France
Tonga Loa has made quite a name for himself this year, albeit not in a good way. His notorious botches had already started when he made his first appearance this year at Backlash France. The original plans stated that the Samoan would appear out from under the ring and pull the referee out as Kevin Owens went for the pin on Tama Tonga.

However, the infamous “Botcha Loa” mistimed his queue and did not come out from under the ring on time. The match official had to slide out of the ring himself, and the former WWE Tag Team Champion later pretended that he was the one behind this finish. Thankfully, this botch was not picked up on the live feed.
2. Nia Jax’s weak “Chair Taps” at Survivor Series: WarGames
The Women’s Survivor Series: WarGames match was highly criticized by fans, perhaps rightly so. All the other women’s gimmick matches this year, such as the Royal Rumble, Elimination Chamber, and Money in the Bank, had been phenomenal. Arguably, they were all better than the men’s sides, but not WarGames. Nia Jax was heavily blamed for this after having one of the most embarrassing WWE moments this year.

During the early moments of the match, Jax tried to attack Bayley and Naomi with a steel chair. However, she was awfully patient at letting her competitors get up and letting them bend over so the chair hit their back and not their head. Furthermore, the shots connected very weakly, and many fans even compared them to Hulk Hogan’s infamous weak chair shots. The Queen of the Ring was trolled so much for this that she ended up deactivating her X account.
1. Raquel Rodriguez helps Liv Morgan pin Rhea Ripley after the match already ended
Rhea Ripley finally got a shot at revenge against Liv Morgan at Bad Blood following their SummerSlam match. This match was supposed to position the Women’s World Champion at the top of the women’s division with a strong sidekick at her disposal. Unfortunately, rather than looking like a dominating force, Raquel Rodriguez came off as foolish and ignorant.

Rodriguez was supposed to interfere in the match while the referee was not looking, which cost Ripley the match. However, she came out to attack the Australian right in front of the referee. The match official had no option but to call off the match due to a disqualification. However, the 33-year-old continued to make things even worse.
The planned finish probably featured Rodriguez placing Morgan on top of Ripley so the champion could retain her title via pinfall. The Latina star perhaps did not recognize that the match had ended and placed her friend on top of the challenger anyway, despite the match having ended minutes ago. This was so bad that even the Eradicator took shots at her for this botch on social media.
