Top 5 rivals for Seth Rollins after he returns to WWE

Seth Rollins

The former “Monday Night Messiah” Seth Rollins was last seen on WWE at Survivor Series. He as the first wrestler to be eliminated from the 5-Man Elimination Tag match. Rollins, representing the Team Smackdown, sacrificed himself without even engaging in some action. Team Smackdown ultimately lost by a disappointing score-line of 5-0.
Now it is being reported that Rollins has taken paternity leave from WWE. Rollins is having a baby with WWE superstar Becky Lynch. He is expected to return early next year. The break for Rollins comes after the long feud involving the Mysterios and Murphy finally came to an end.
When Rollins returns to WWE next year, the fans might be hoping for a new feud for Rollins. Here is our list for the Top 5 rivals for Seth Rollins:
#5 Sami Zayn

Rollins had been a babyface for WWE for major part of his career before the “Monday Night Messiah” gimmick was introduced. His babyface run is considered to be the one of the best runs in the modern generation. Rollins had won his first Intercontinental Championship at Wrestlemania 34.
Considering Rollins current run as a Heel has not garnered much appreciation from the fans, WWE might consider to switch Rollins back to a baby face. Going after his third IC Title reign might just help Rollins with that. The current Champion Sami Zayn is one of the best Heels in the company. Going against him will certainly help push Rollins as a face.
#4 Kevin Owens

Owens is a likely opponent for Rollins, in case WWE decides to continue Rollins’ run as a Heel. Earlier this year, Rollins and Owens were involved an interesting feud. The rivalry concluded with a match at Wrestlemania 36. The duo faced-off against each other on the first night of Wrestlemania in a No Disqualification Match. The match’s highlight moment was Owens diving off the Wrestlemania sign.
WWE can restart this rivalry with Rollins coming back to get his win against Owens. Interestingly, the loss to Owens at Mania was Rollins’ first loss at the PPV.
#3 Newcomer from NXT

The NXT has a strong roster with some of the best talents from all over the globe. Some of these NXT superstars have been moved to the main roster – the most recent ones being Keith Lee and Riddle. WWE usually moves the talent from the black-and-gold brand to the main roster.
Some of the NXT veterans like Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa are committed to their current brand. Finn Balor has appeared on all the three brands of WWE. But considering he is the current NXT Champion, the possibility of him moving to a different brand is ruled out. So if WWE decides to move a newer wrestler to the main roster, a rivalry with Rollins could help in giving a massive push to the new talent.
#2 Big E

Apart from the Universal Champion Roman Reigns, Big E and Rollins are two of the biggest names on the current Smackdown roster. Rollins has been a big name in the industry since long, but WWE has started giving a massive singles push to Big E.
These two wrestlers are inarguably title contenders. So WWE can plan a storyline for them, where they feud for the No.1 Contender’s opportunity.
#1 Roman Reigns

Speaking about the Universal Championship, a rivalry with Roman Reigns would be massive for WWE. The former members of The Shield could battle it out in the squared ring for the Championship. It is likely that WWE will turn Rollins a Face for executing this rivalry.
Roman Reigns is in the form of his life as a Heel, hence there would not be a need to change his character. Additionally, Reigns’ run as a Heel has so far focused on the family angle. WWE Universe is aware that Rollins and Reigns are great friends in real life and consider each other to be brothers. Hence, Rollins can organically be involved in this storyline.
