Royal Rumble season is like Christmas for wrestling fans. This Premium Live Event is often filled with shocking returns and new debuts, which leave fans on the edge of their seats. With Royal Rumble 2025 right around the corner, expectations for this year are no different.
The Rumble matches are often very star-studded, featuring some of the biggest superstars that the company has to offer. While WWE currently has one of the best rosters it has ever had, the promotion can surely take things up a notch by showcasing some superstars who have not been seen with the company for a while.
With that said, here are five superstars who should return at the Royal Rumble 2025.
5. Alexa Bliss
The last time that Alexa Bliss was seen in WWE was in 2023 at the exact same PLE. She unsuccessfully challenged Bianca Belair for the Raw Women’s Championship and had to take a break due to pregnancy. However, it seems that the former Women’s Champion is now all set to step back into the squared circle.
Recent reports have stated that the 33-year-old was supposed to return to WWE on the January 13th, 2025, edition of Raw. However, plans were dropped and the idea has been put on hold indefinitely. This makes Royal Rumble 2025 the perfect venue for Little Miss Bliss to remind everyone of how great she still is.
4. Nic Nemeth
Nic Nemeth, formerly known as Dolph Ziggler, always remained one of the most underrated wrestlers on their entire roster. Although he won the World Heavyweight Championship twice during his time in the Stamford-based promotion, fans felt that he never truly reached his potential.
Since parting ways with WWE, Nemeth has appeared in other promotions like NJPW and TNA, even becoming the latter’s world champion. The 44-year-old has completely transformed himself over the past year. Furthermore, this partnership between WWE-TNA would surely allow him to make an appearance without any contractual issues, making this the perfect stage for him to show off his new self.
3. Matt Cardona
Matt Cardona is a prime example of how one can completely transform oneself and turn into a global superstar without WWE. Although the Indy God is doing incredibly well for himself right now, he has stated his intentions to return to the company one day. His wife, Chelsea Green, is also doing well for herself on SmackDown. Furthermore, she also wants to be joined by her husband on this journey.
Even if he doesn’t return to WWE permanently for the time being, an appearance in the upcoming Rumble match could be a great way to begin this transition. After all, he is very far apart from being Zack Ryder now, and modern-day fans would surely love to see his new form.

With AJ Styles perhaps at the twilight of his career, the 47-year-old may not have many Rumble matches left. He has already proved to the wrestling world that he is still one of the best performers on Earth with his matches against Cody Rhodes at Backlash and Clash at the Castle. A stellar performance in the 30-man match could be further icing on the cake.
The Phenomenal One had suffered a terrible injury on SmackDown a few months ago the night he made his return. He has been on the shelf for months and has not been seen on TV since. However, insider reports have stated that Styles may once again be cleared for action. This makes the Royal Rumble 2025 perfect for his return.

Becky Lynch returning to WWE seems inevitable at this point. She was present in the advertising for Raw on Netflix. Furthermore, she has even made several media appearances for the company. Reportedly, she was going to return at the first episode of Raw on Netflix but plans were changed.
Now, Royal Rumble 2025 seems like the ideal spot for Lynch to make her much-awaited return. Fellow horsewoman Charlotte Flair has already announced herself for the match. These two having a staredown would surely leave fans titillated. Furthermore, there is no doubt that if the Irish wrestler enters the Rumble, she is definitely one of the favorites to win the whole thing.
