Kansas City Chiefs star tight end Travis Kelce turned 35 this Saturday, and while his birthday bash was a blast, there’s something that he revealed he wants most as a present for his special day.
The season might not be going well for him, but Kelce didn’t leave any stones unturned to celebrate his 35th birthday. He organized his second annual Kelce Jam charity event on Saturday, in Kansas City, Missouri, with a huge gathering joined by his parents, Donna and Ed Kelce, his brother Jason Kelce and his sister-in-law, Kylie, along with Patrick Mahomes and his wife, Brittany.
Fans, who showed up for the All-Pro tight end, sang the birthday song for him and showered him with many birthday cards on his special day. When Page Six asked Travis if there was something he wanted the most but didn’t receive yet on his birthday, he replied with something that only he and his team could give.
Witnessing how this season is going, many seemed to speculate that the nine-time Pro Bowler might be retiring soon from his legendary career. Since he has signed a two-year extension with Kansas City, there’s a good possibility that Travis might bid adios to NFL in 2026. He aims to win at least one Super Bowl, if not two, before parting ways.
Travis Kelce aims high to match Michael Jordan’s legacy
Travis and his team, the Chiefs, are coming for a remarkable feat from last season as they became the first team in the previous two decades to win back-to-back Super Bowl victories. As they enter the 2024 season, they aim for a historic three-peat. However, the 35-year-old’s goal is much more prominent than that.
Inspired by the NBA GOAT Michael Jordan, Travis revealed earlier this May that he wants to be NFL’s ‘Michael Jordan.’ In an interview with Zen Water, he shared aiming to achieve as many rings as Jordan’s six championships, before ending his Hall of Fame-worthy career.
Since Travis already has three Super Bowl rings, he wants three more to achieve his goal. Unfortunately, this was before his dip in form this season and now his goal might appear blurred.
But at the end of the way, it’s Travis, counted among the top tight ends in the NFL’s history. This slow start might just be a bump in the road, and he’s expected to bounce back soon.
