As the NFL world gears up for Super Bowl LX this coming Sunday, Travis Kelce was seen golfing on Wednesday. The Kansas City Chiefs tight end would fire up the crowd at the TPC Scottsdale during the Waste Management Phoenix Open Pro-Am with his golfing prowess and pulled off the Happy Gilmore celebration.

This year marks the first time since 2022 that Kelce and his teammates will not feature in the marquee football game. After losing against the Philadelphia Eagles in last year’s Super Bowl and failing to three-peat the title, the Chiefs had a season to forget in 2025.

After two losses to open the season, the Chiefs won 5 of their next 6 games and were 5-3 after 8 games. They would then lose to the Buffalo Bills and the Denver Broncos.

Following their 23-20 OT win over the Indianapolis Colts in Week 12, things went downhill for them. They lost 6 games in a row and ended the year with a 6-11 record, missing the playoffs for the first time since 2014.

With no Super Bowl to take part in this Sunday, Kelce would travel to Arizona to take part in the WM Phoenix Open Pro-Am. The 36-year-old is a huge fan of golf and has teed up several times during the offseason.

On Wednesday, he was one of the numerous athletes who took part in the Phoenix Open Pro-Am. He would be joined by Arizona Cardinals teammates Trey McBride, Budda Baker, and Zaven Collins.

The 3-time Super Bowl champion would fire up the crowd with a dart on the famous 16th hole. His shot would land just inches away from the hole. Check out a video regarding this below:

He proceeded to sink the putt for a birdie. After this, he would go lose and celebrate in Happy Gilmore style by riding his putter in front of the fans at the TPC Scottsdale.

Kelce did make a cameo appearance in Happy Gilmore 2, the sequel to Adam Sandler‘s iconic Happy Gilmore movie. He perhaps got some tips from the veteran actor on how to ride the putter after sinking a birdie.

This reaction from him left some fans confused. The 30-year-old later clarified that he was talking about golf with some golf and laughing emojis in another tweet, seemingly cheering his teammate for his performance in the Pro-Am tournament.

Just like Kelce, Mahomes is also a golf fan and has played this sport in his free time. Last year, when Scottie Scheffler erased a 4-shot deficit in the final round to win the BMW Championship, Mahomes was left stunned.

Speaking of Scheffler, the World No.1 will tee off at the WM Phoenix Open this week. He did not take part in the Farmers Insurance Open last week after winning the American Express Championship a week prior in his first start of the 2026 season.
