Super Bowl LIX is over, and Travis Kelce and his Kansas City Chiefs could not complete their goals of being the first team in NFL history to win three straight Lombardi trophies. They were destroyed by a young Philadelphia Eagles team that left many in awe on how good the new champions are.

The domination was embarrassing for the likes of Kelce who seemed to be out of phase. The ferocity with which the Eagles defense attacked them left the star tight end struggling to block players or even get open to get catches.

It just wasn’t our day, couldn’t find a lick of momentum. I’m kicking myself for some of the tiny decisions I made on the field. I wasn’t the best leader that I could be in motivating my guys and keeping my guys calm, cool, and collected. It’s a tough pill to swallow, it’s a hard reality.

The 35-year-old superstar then talked about how much he loves his teammates, coaches and the fans. But understands their disappointment as he and his teammates are also going through it. He knows they will need to make some adjustments if they want to battle against such a team.

One of the most talked about topics prior to Super Bowl LIX was Travis Kelce’s future. Reports suggested he might be willing to settle down with Taylor Swift and he might call time on the game. He clarified his stance while on New Heights.

I know everybody wants to know whether or not I’m playing next year, and right now, I’m just kicking everything down the road. I’m playing an extra three games more than everybody else in the entire league. That’s a lot of wear and tear.

The tight end acknowledged that his performances have tailed off from the times he was named 1st Team All-Pro four times. However, he believes he still can play and contribute. He just wants the time to think it over and make sure his decision is sound.

Kansas City Chiefs teammate Patrick Mahomes knows he will miss his favorite target. But even he knows that when aging it might be better to stop before the wheels completely fall off. These coming months will show where his mind is.
