Dreams do indeed come true if one works hard enough. Those were the words IYO SKY let out after shocking Rhea Ripley in the main event of Raw this week. The Damage CTRL supremo stunned Mami by pinning her to become the new Women’s World Champion. Rhea took her eye off the bullet while trash-talking with Bianca Belair, who was sitting ringside.

The time Ripley wasted cost her dearly when SKY turned the tables on the Aussie. The Genius of the Sky was greeted by WWE CCO Triple H as soon as she reached the gorilla position. The Game dubbed her a rock star and credited her grit for scaling these highs. IYO was visibly in tears and brimming with utmost gratitude for being in the position she’s in today.

SKY got the trademark Triple H finger-point photo with him, captioning her coup as deserving and not something that’s been handed to her. The past few months weren’t ideal for the Japanese grappler. At one point, her WrestleMania 41 plans appeared gloomy. Moreover, her inability to qualify for the women’s Elimination Chamber match was believed to be the final nail in the coffin.

In hindsight, SKY’s lean patch was merely to throw the fans off guard, and her title win against Rhea all but confirmed it. She promised last Monday that she wouldn’t allow The Eradicator to break free. IYO has extended her streak over Ripley, with the latter still jockeying for her first pinfall on SKY on the main roster.

Bianca Belair shenanigans led IYO SKY to victory on Raw

The in-ring tussle between Rhea Ripley and IYO SKY took an interesting turn when Bianca Belair started showing concern for the Tokyo-born wrestler. The latter, at one point, was about to be counted out. Belair kept rallying for IYO to make it back into the ring before the 10-count. That pissed Ripley off.

She confronted The EST and things even got physical. However, match referee Jessica Carr didn’t call for the bell and avoided a DQ finish. SKY planted Rhea with her second over-the-moonsault to get the better of the former Judgment Day member eventually.

In a follow-up clip posted by WWE, one could clearly see the slight grin on Bianca’s face after seeing Ripley lose. It felt almost as if she wanted Mami to drop the gold. This triangle is expected to yield a triple threat bout at WrestleMania 41 with IYO defending her newly-won women’s title against both Ripley and Belair.

But that’s not it. Bianca does have a certain Jade Cargill to deal with as well. The Storm returned right before the women’s Elimination Chamber match could get underway. In the process, the ex-AEW star took out Belair’s tag team partner Naomi, seemingly revealing that she devised her mysterious parking lot assault on SmackDown.
