The time that Miami Dolphins fanbase has been eagerly awaiting since the Week 2 loss to the Buffalo Bills is finally here. Quarterback Tua Tagovailoa is expected to make his return after sitting on the sidelines for five weeks. He was put in concussion protocol and is expected to be clear to play by next week.

Miami Dolphins’ HC Mike McDaniel informed the team that Tua Tagovailoa will begin to practice starting Wednesday as reported by The Athletic‘s Diana Russini. This means that the quarterback will be ready to start in the team’s Week 8 game against the Arizona Cardinals.

As far as timelines go, I know he’s not playing this week. I do expect to see him playing football in 2024, but where that is exactly, we’ll let the process continue.

Mike McDaniel stated earlier this week in his press conference.

Miami will play the Colts without Tua Tagovailoa. Mike McDaniel made it clear that Tagovailoa will not be starting this week.

The Miami Dolphins have felt Tua Tagovailoa’s absence on offense

In the quarterback’s absence, the Dolphins have won just one game and lost the other two games. The quarterback position has been a point of struggle for the team.

Tyler Huntley, who was acquired by the team after Tagovailoa went down has had 290 yards passing, has failed to throw his first touchdown. It has been frustrating for the team’s offense, because despite having great receivers, the team does not have a quarterback to throw the ball to them.

Tua Tagovailoa’s absence from the offense has proven to the team how valuable he is. Miami has struggled to put up points on the board and has averaged just 10 points per game since his concussion. Jaylen Waddle and Tyreek Hill find themselves in a difficult position as they have had just one 100-yard game this season, which came in Week 1.

Tua Tagovailoa makes his return to the gridiron after sustaining his third concussion of his professional career. There were a lot of doubts surrounding his return this season or to the NFL as fans were concerned about his health. The quarterback took his time to recover and is not giving up on the Dolphins just yet. It will be exciting to see him back in action.
