Tucker Kraft put in a statement performance against the Washington Commanders. No matter where the Green Bay Packers sent the big tight end, he found space for a catch and covered ground.

Kraft’s chance to shine came very early on Thursday. He connected with quarterback Jordan Love for a 57-yard run. It got the crowd going. Love found Kraft once more, taking his tally to 76 yards in the first quarter alone. He beat two defenders and rammed into another one to gain valuable yardage on that very play.

However, he waited until the fourth quarter to make the biggest play of his night. On first and goal, Love lobbed a pass into the red zone to an open Kraft for his touchdown of the year. Tucker Kraft finished week two with 6 receptions for 124 yards and one score. Most of his yards came after the catch, which doesn’t surprise anyone, considering he led the NFL in YAC last year.

Tucker Kraft survived an early injury scare

Kraft found himself in discomfort during a route in the earlier parts of the game. Cameras caught him moving gingerly due to a non-contact injury.

He left the field for a moment but returned a little while later. It was a fortunate moment for the Packers because two of their receivers, including Jayden Reed, went off early after suffering injuries. Kraft stayed and made a difference as the Packers picked up their second victory. Here are some of the reactions from fans:

Tucker Kraft tore his pectoral muscle in the 2024 offseason, keeping him out of the training camp. However, he recovered enough to join the squad before the first week and did not miss a single game. Kraft racked up 50 receptions for 707 yards (an average of 14.1 yards per reception) for 7 touchdowns.

The 24-year-old went under the radar in the 2023 draft. Coming out of the FCS level, NFL teams didn’t bat much of an eye until the Packers selected him in the third round.

The 2-0 Packers are shaping up to be a nuisance in the NFC. QB Love is leading from the front with 400+ yards through the air and 4 touchdowns. Micah Parsons has 1.5 sacks in his first two games at Lambeau Field. Up next, they travel to Cleveland to play the Cleveland Browns.
