Twitter Reacts as Max Verstappen Clinches World Championship in Dramatic Fashion at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix

The final leg of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix entailed for an intense and exciting final. The rivalry between Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton would final culminate with one of them being World Champion. As both of them entered the race with equal points, the start and strategy would be crucial in determining the result of the race.

The race was full of twists and turns, with drama on the very first lap. Hamilton and Verstappen went wheel to wheel, causing a small collision which required no investigation but caused a lot of controversy. A series of yellow flags saw Verstappen change tyres twice, while Hamilton made the decision to stay out on hard tyres for the entire race.

The last four laps were spent under the safety car, and in the very last lap it was Verstappen who prevailed, clinching a historic world championship. He became the first Dutch Formula 1 champion and the first world champion for Red Bull after Sebastian Vettel.
