IPL 2021: Twitter reacts as Riyan Parag and Rahul Tewatia come up with ‘selfie celebration’
Riyan Parag and Rahul Tewatia
Rajasthan Royals (RR) came up with an inspired bowling performance to restrict Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) to a modest total of 133/9. Winning the toss and putting Eoin Morgan‘s men in to bat, RR applied the choke right from the very beginning. The KKR openers Shubman Gill and Nitish Rana began in indifferently slow fashion, leading to the pressure building a great deal in the Powerplay.
After the two got out, Rahul Tripathi came up with a good innings to up the ante. However, after his dismissal, the other batters could not perform as they would have wanted. Chris Morris was the star for RR as he picked up four wickets at the death by removing some of KKR’s most explosive batsmen. With the other bowlers chipping in with a wicket apiece and a terrific fielding display, RR were well and truly on top.
Watch – Riyan Parag takes a ‘selfie’
Rajasthan Royals’ fielding was top-notch on the night as there were great catches from the likes of Riyan Parag and Chetan Sakariya. The former was especially in his element as he took catches in effortless fashion. Firstly, he took the all-important catch of Tripathi before removing Pat Cummins with a stupendous catch on the boundary rope to arrest the momentum.
Following both catches, Parag celebrated in unique fashion. In the first instance, he used the ball as a ‘mobile’ and took an imaginary selfie with Rahul Tewatia who was also fielding nearby. In the second instance, he mimicked an action of tossing the ‘mobile’ to Tewatia who then did the honours by taking a selfie. This piece of celebration has now gone viral on social media. This is how Twitter reacted to the same.
