A lot of Kansas City Chiefs fans were unhappy when Tyreek Hill decided to pack his bags and leave the team in 2022 for the Miami Dolphins. And yet, in Hill’s view, the Chiefs fans never forgave him even after two years.

Hill was a massive prospect in college, but his stock plummeted due to an arrest. The Chiefs took a gamble on him, and it paid off, with the 30-year-old earning six straight Pro Bowl honors and a Super Bowl in 2019.

However, he left the franchise over a contract dispute and signed with the Dolphins. This left a bad taste in the mouths of the Chiefs Kingdom. They still hold a grudge against them for abandoning them, which Hill never wanted.

A lot of people [they] are still hurt because I left Kansas City. It’s alright, bro. It’s alright, you feel me? I am doing well here [Miami], and ya’ll should be happy.
Tyreek Hill told Kay Adams, the host of Up & Adams

Adams then asked the star wideout about his relationship with Kansas City. He did not even hesitate to say that he loved the place.

I love it. I love those guys; I love Pat [Patrick Mahomes], I love [Travis] Kelce, I love Chris Jones, I love coach [Andy] Reid, I love all of those guys.
Tyreek Hill added

Despite the hard feelings, Hill has massive respect for his former teammates and employers.

Without coach Reid, without you know the owner, Mr. [Clark] Hunt, I wouldn't be in this position… The fans have supported me through the years when I was there; that was amazing.

Tyreek Hill loved being a Chief but now he is enjoying life with the Dolphins

The Chiefs were not willing to pay him a $30 million a year salary, which then was the most for a wide receiver. When the Dolphins came in with the offer of paying him the same, he couldn’t refuse. On top of that, in a later interview, the all-pro wide receiver revealed there were other teams like the 49ers and Steelers in line to sign him, but he chose Miami because the state doesn’t have taxes, unlike other places.

Now, two years later, Hill wants the Chiefs fans to be happy because he is enjoying himself at the South Beach.

The ride was amazing, but here I am now in Miami, being the #1 player and the hottest in the city. I am the big Chief in the south beach.

There’s reason for the Chiefs fans to be angry with Hill. The recent NFL Network Top 100 list put him as the #1 player in the NFL, while the 2023 Super Bowl MVP and the Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes was placed #4.

The confusing results lit fire under them because they couldn’t accept it. Some would argue that Hill definitely had a case because of his individual performance, as he recorded a career-best 119 catches for 1799 receiving yards and 13 touchdowns. So there’s no point arguing; the only thing now for Hill is to win his second ring.
