However, Rountree put up a strong fight, particularly in the second round, where he managed to trouble Pereira. In the fourth round, Pereira unleashed a powerful combination, forcing the referee to step in and stop the fight at 4:32, giving ‘Poatan’ victory via TKO.

Pereira’s precise striking caused multiple cuts and heavy bleeding on Rountree’s face and chest. After the fight, he was taken to a hospital for precautionary treatment, where he received stitches for his cuts. UFC CEO Dana White praised Rountree’s courage for going toe-to-toe with one of the most feared strikers in the division.

It remains unclear if Rountree sustained any serious long-term injuries beyond the visible cuts. He was expected to be evaluated further by doctors before heading home to Las Vegas.

Boxing star Ryan Garcia pushes for Alex Pereira vs. Jon Jones after UFC 307

After Alex Pereira’s dominant title defense at UFC 307 against Khalil Rountree, the conversation has shifted to his potential future matches. UFC 307 was Pereira’s third successful light-heavyweight title defense in the past seven months. It is the same division that Jones ruled on and off for almost eight years. Many are pushing for a Pereira vs. Jones showdown. That includes boxing star Ryan Garcia.

Jones, meanwhile, is set to defend his heavyweight title against Stipe Miocic at UFC 309. There are rumors that suggest this could be his last fight before retirement. If so happens, interim heavyweight champion Tom Aspinall is ready to take on the two-division UFC champion. Regardless, it will be interesting to see what Alex ‘Poatan’ Pereira decides to do next.
