Losses in the combat sports world are a common occurrence. One man must lose for the other to win. But some fighters don’t take losses kindly. Enter Tyson Fury, who seems to be reeling from his loss against Oleksandr Usyk. Fury was spotted hitting the deck face-first after a boozy night out in his hometown.
Videos show the 35-year-old boxer looking worse for wear as security ushered him out of a bar, recently. Tyson Fury had been partying with family and friends when things got a bit too rowdy for the bar staff’s liking. Two bouncers can be seen politely but firmly guiding the 6ft 9in giant towards the exit as he protests his innocence. Once outside, the unsteady fighter took an impromptu face-first trip to the canvas.
Fury staggers around on the street before crashing down onto his hands and knees in the footage captured by onlookers. He even appeared to clunk his head on a nearby lamppost on the way down. The embarrassing incident comes just weeks after Fury suffered his first professional defeat at the fists of Usyk in Saudi Arabia. He’s scheduled a rematch with the Ukrainian for December 21st to try and reclaim his heavyweight titles.
But first, he’ll have to recover from this self-inflicted knockout courtesy of too many pints. The Gypsy King will no doubt be keen to get back in the gym ahead of his rematch with Usyk. However, he may want to stick to drinking water instead of Alcohol for a while. Fight fans as well as athletes have their expectations lined up for this rematch.
Former Champion makes prediction for Fury vs. Usyk 2
The always-outspoken Tony Bellew is weighing in on December’s big rematch. Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk will run it back for all the heavyweight marbles. The former ABA heavyweight champion gave his thoughts on Fury’s chances of revenge against Usyk.
Bellew gave his brutally honest assessment. When asked if Fury can overturn his first pro loss, Bellew was not very optimistic about this. He revealed that Fury’s latest performance was not on a high enough level. This is what he stated:
Based on the last performance, no, you can’t, you can’t make it, you can’t make a call for that, but has he got a chance 100%? “Listen, of course he can come back and I wish him well... I hope I hope he’s enjoying life cuz he deserves to. He’s got a wonderful family, and I just, I only wish him well.Tony Bellew via IFL TV
Bellew was complimentary of Fury’s impact despite his skepticism over his rematch prospects. Bellew’s take is pointing towards a win for Usyk on December 21st. But never say never when it comes to the ever-unpredictable Gypsy King. Perhaps Fury will showcase a vintage performance to reclaim his heavyweight crown once again.
