Chelsea vs Sevilla ends 0-0 at Stamford Bridge. Both teams headed into their opening match of the campaign strongly.

Sevilla had most of the possession. However they created very few chances and could not breach the Chelsea defence. Chelsea’s attacking quality was well nullified by Sevilla’s well drilled defence.

First Half

Timo Werner

Sevilla started off the first half with much of the ball. The Spanish team had most of the possession with smartly using the switch of play at times. They pushed the Chelsea defence back quite a lot.

Chelsea in the other hand looked to produce quality ok the counter attack. Eduoard Mendy was called into action as he palms away a strong header. He was once again into the middle as he collected Ocampos’s shot. The blues had a good chance at the end courtesy of Timo Werner. However the German couldn’t control the shot from inside the box.

Second Half

Kurt Zouma

The host team started off strongly in the second half as they earned a corner. Kurt Zouma rose the highest however his shot is comfortably collected by the Sevilla goalkeeper. Christian Pulisic made a good run into the box to deliver a low cross to Timo Werner. The German tried to get a shot off but is blocked by Sevilla’s defence.

The best effort of the second half came from Jordan of Sevilla. The corner is met with a delicious volley from Jordan but it’s just above the net. Both Mendy and Thiago Silva were left rooted to the spot.
