Khabib Nurmagomedov vs Justin Gaethje headlines at UFC 254

Headlined by the highly anticipated matchup for the Lightweight title, between Khabib Nurmagomedov and interim champ Justin Gaethje. The pay-per-view card will aspect six matchups, opposed to the standard five. The UFC 254 main card has been revealed and it will look slightly different than what fans are accustomed to seeing. 

Former’s Bellator sensation Michael Chandler is also indirectly involved in the UFC 254 event. As he serves as the backup option for the main event. The fight will also see a much-awaited return of Khabib, first time after his father’s demise. On the other side, Justin Gaethje has desreved this title shot deservingly after beating Tony Ferguson, who was rather the original opponent speculated for this shot. 

After Dustin Poirier and Tony Ferguson’s fight was scrapped off by UFC President Dana White. In the UFC 254 co-main event, former middleweight winner Robert Whittaker will choose on surging 185-pound contender Jared Cannonier.

After Dana White announced that UFC is looking for a new opponent for Tony Ferguson after failing to come to terms with Dustin Poirier, it was expected that Michael Chandler would face El Cucuy next. The latter is serving as a backup option for the main event. 

Having said that, Heavyweights will throw down in the featured bout as Alexander Volkov takes on Walt Harris in a top-10 matchup, while former lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos returns to 155 to take on Islam Makhachev.
