Platinum ‘Mike Perry’ (7-6) finally makes his Octagon appearance in a fight against Tim Means (12-9) after missing the weight by a huge margin of 4.5 pounds. Perry loses 30% of his purse due to missing the weight but he got to fight. His opponent Means also made the weight on just margin.

Round 1: Perry looks to strike a huge left hand but misses. Means hit Perry with a jab, Perry changes the level and shoot for a takedown. Perry tries to come in full guard but Means roll out. Perry is on his back looking for the choke. Perry gets his left arm in place.

Means hit Perry with a knee inside his ribs, both of them stand up. Means hit with a nice jab and knee and shoots to the body. They trade low kicks, the round ends. It seems equal for both of them.

Round 2: Means hit Perry with a nice left hand as soon as the round starts. He pumps up the jab and lands a few significant strikes, Perry countered on the top. Perry’s nose is looking a little bit red. Right-hand scores for Means and his big slips on Perry.

Some low kicks from Perry, Means pop the head open with some strange punches. Perry is walking forward but with caution. Means is using his volume strikes but Perry is moving with care. The round ends Means seems to have an edge in this round.

Round 3: Perry tries to move forward but Means land a few legs kicks and keeps him away. Perry again tries for the takedown, Means lands a hard uppercut and defended himself from the takedown. Perry is against the fence, Means again pops his head with a hard right hand.

Perry is trying to go for the brawl, Means answers him with punches. Means is taking his score forward with some nice shots. Perry is looking to land some hard strikes but the round ends, it’s up to the judges now.

Result: Tim Means def. Mike Perry via unanimous decision (30-27, 29-28, 29-28)
