“He’s only been stopped once, and that’s all I need,” Leon Edwards looks to finish Nate Diaz at UFC 263

Leon Edwards and Nate Diaz
The number 3rd ranked UFC Welterweight fighter, Leon Edwards is returning back to action against one of the toughest guys in the Welterweight division, Nate Diaz at UFC 263. A win in this fight can present both of them an opportunity to fight for the title next.
Edwards is coming in this fight with a no-contest against Belal Muhammad and he is looking a make an impact with his win by finishing Nate Diaz. Diaz has been finished only one time in his entire UFC career and Leon Edwards is looking to do the unbelievable miracle once again.
In his latest interview with UFC Arabia, Edwards says, “I need to go out there and I need to put him away, He’s only been stopped once, and that’s all I need. He’s been stopped. He’s not no robot. He’s not no invincible man.”
“He has been stopped, and I truly believe I will go out there and stop him again – and I cannot wait. My skill set will be too much for him in the standup. On the ground, my strength will be too much for him. And I can’t wait to go out there and let him feel that.” {H/T MMA Junkie}
Edwards returned to action almost after one and half years in his fight against Muhammad but that too ended in a no-contest after an accidental eye poke from ‘Rocky’. With all this frustration building up, Leon Edwards is looking to finish Nate Diaz to fight for the title next.
He added, “I envision going out there and just battering him from pillar to post and getting the stoppage, “I know he’s a tough, durable guy, and I just don’t think being tough and durable is enough to beat me.”
“I’ve worked hard, and I’ve dedicated myself for a long time, and it’s now time for my results to show. I can’t wait to go out there and prove that.” {H/T MMA Junkie}
Leon Edwards believes he’ll inflict more damage in this five rounds fight

The fight between Leon Edwards and Nate Diaz is going to be UFC’s first-ever, a five-round event for a nontitle fight. Edwards believes this will help him to inflict more damage on Nate Diaz throughout five rounds.
“I don’t believe so, “I’ve fought many main events and this is probably my fifth main event that I’m preparing for, so I’ve been here before. I’ve done it. I don’t feel it favors him.”
“I think he just takes more punishment all five rounds, and that’s all I see: Me going out there and putting my hands on him and to put him away. I need to go out there and prove to the world that I deserve the next title shot, and that’s what I’m going out there to do.” {H/T MMA Junkie}
