The UFC Bantamweight fighter, Sean O Malley is left hanging within just 10 days of his fight at UFC 264. O Malley was booked to face Louis Smolka but he pulled out his name due to an injury and Sean O Malley is finding a new opponent for himself.

A lot of bantamweights volunteered to face O Malley at UFC 264 and who wouldn’t want to fight on the fight card headlined by Conor McGregor. The number 10th ranked UFC Bantamweight fighter Merab Dvalishvili is also one of them.

Dvalishvili is booked to face the former title challenger, Marlon Moraes on UFC 266 and right now he is training on the location UFC 264 is going to take place. That’s why he thinks he is one of the best contenders to face Sean O Malley.

In his latest interview with MMA Junkie, Dvalishvili says, “Sure, I’m in here in Vegas training hard, and I always love to take fights, I’ve been mentioning Sean O’Malley’s name for three years already,”

“So I would love to fight him. He’s a great fighter, and it makes me excited to fight him, so if he wants to fight with me, I’m ready.” {H/T MMA Junkie}

He added, “One hundred percent I would take the Sean O’Malley fight in 10 days and the Marlon Moraes fight in September. I have time, I’m training smart and hard, and I want both fights.”

Merab Dvalishvili is ranked number 10th in the Bantamweight division and he thinks because of his resume, he is the best available option for Sean O Malley right now. He continued, “I heard so many guys want to fight him, but I have a name, I’m top 10 (in the UFC rankings),”

“It’s Conor McGregor’s fight card, so they need a big name, I guess, because they don’t want a debut guy. I think I have a big name, I’m top 10. If I’m him, I’d take my fight because I’m top 10.”

Although, he is very well aware of the clash of fighting styles between him and O Malley, but still he is ready to take this challenge. Dvalishvili added, “I know him from Dana White’s Contender Series, I watched his knockouts, and I said, ‘Wow, this guy is good. I want to fight him,’” {H/T MMA Junkie}

“He’s young, he’s a knockout artist, and I’ve always wanted to fight with him because I want to challenge myself. I think stylistically it’s gonna be good because I have more like a grappling style, he’s a good striker, and I’m just gonna mix, test my striking with him.”
