UFC 265: Jose Aldo vs Pedro Munhoz slated for the Bantamweight contest

The former UFC Featherweight champion Jose Aldo will be returning back to action against the number 8th ranked UFC Bantamweight fighter Pedro Munhoz in his next fight. Both Aldo and Munhoz came back to the winning column in their last fights and after this, one will leave the Octagon with a loss on his record.

A person confirmed this news to MMA Junkie on Thursday after it was initially reported by Combate. This person has requested to stay anonymous because UFC hasn’t officially announced this fight as a done deal.

Aldo last fought against Marlon Vera on UFC Fight Night: Thompson vs Neal in December. This win snapped his three-fight losing streak, including the vacant Bantamweight title loss against Petr Yan. Now he will face Munhoz at UFC 265.

Aldo is one of the most decorated UFC champions who hold victories over many big names in the division such as Chan Sung Jung, Chad Mendes, Urijah Faber, Cub Swanson, Frankie Edgar, and many others. His last win against Chito Vera was the first win of his Bantamweight career.

Munhoz made a name for himself in the UFC Bantamweight division by knocking out Cody Garbrandt in the very first round of their fight at UFC 235. But after that, he lost two consecutive fights, against Aljamain Sterling and Frankie Edgar.

In his last fight against Jimmie Rivera on UFC Fight Night: Rozenstruik vs Gane he came back to the win column. A win in this fight for Munhoz or Aldo will help them to go for the UFC Bantamweight title contention in one of the most stacked divisions of UFC.
