Alexander Volkanovski and Brian Ortega

The much-awaited, highly anticipated main event is now official at UFC 266 for the 2 top-tier fighters of the UFC featherweight division, with the champion Alexander ‘The Great’ Volkanovski – weighing 145.5 pounds- defending his title against the challenger Brian ‘T-City’ Ortega who tipped the scales at 144 pounds.

However, the moment of the show was stolen in the interviews held after the weigh-ins in which Ortega said in a low voice “No more words tomorrow. F**k the belt, I am coming for your head.” The champion Volkanovski responded much loudly saying that he is ready for Ortega in “Guns Blazing” and assured that the belt is coming back to his home country in Australia.

During the face-off scenes at the pre-fight press conference, Volkanovski said it with a rather aggressive tone “I didn’t know about you popping. That sh*t didn’t sit well with me. You don’t deserve to be here. Mate, you’re a f**king drug cheat.” For those who’re not clear with Volkanovski’s statement, he is referring to Ortega’s positive drug-testing results for taking PEDs which came out after Ortega’s UFC debut in 2014.
