The Heavyweight contest of UFC 266 features the fight between the number 4th ranked UFC Heavyweight fighter, Curtis Blyades taking on the number 6th ranked Heavyweight fighter, Jairzinho Rozenstruik.

Blaydes is coming into this fight with a loss against Derrick Lewis in his last fight and Rozenstruik will be coming into this fight with a win against Augusto Sakai in his last fight.

Round 1: Blaydes lands an early left hand to start the striking and Rozenstruik swings in a flurry. Blaydes fakes a takedown and landed a jab, he wraps Rozenstruik’s body and trips him to the floor. Blaydes lands a few punches from the top, followed by hammer fists. Rozenstruik paves his way back to standing and swings a left hand and misses again. Blaydes lands one more jab just as the round ends.

Round 2: Blaydes switches stances and Rozenstruik landed a left hand. The crowd is getting involved and they are booing both of them. Blaydes landed a low kick and Rozenstruik once landed tries to land fury but misses. Jabs traded between both and Rozenstruik landed a leaping knee. He eats the knee and secures the takedown, Blaydes kept the pressure heavy and ended the fight on top.

Round 3: Blaydes’ right eye is completely closed from the knee that Rozenstruik hit in the second round but he still continues. He pumps the jab and Rozenstruik still struggled to find the range for his shots. Blaydes lands a low kick and dragged him into the canvas once again. He landed a few short elbows and punches from the top and stayed on the top until the fight ends. Curtis Blaydes came back to the win column after this performance at UFC 266.
