UFC 266: Early Prelims and Preliminary card results
UFC 266 fight card
UFC’s one of the most anticipated events UFC 266 kicked off today. The event took place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. This event hosts some spectacular fights on this card. The main card airs on pay-per-view following prelims ESPN/ESPN+.
UFC 266 is headlined by the most anticipated featherweight title fight between Alexander Volkanovski and Brian Ortega. In the co-main event, we have women’s flyweight champion, Valentina Shevchenko, defending her title against Lauren Murphy. Despite the huge title fights, the fight between Nick Diaz and Robbie Lawler is the most anticipated one on this card. Apart from the main card, the early prelims and preliminary card have an interesting lineup at UFC 266. Take a look at the results.

Jonathan Pearce vs. Omar Morales
Result: Jonathan Pearce def. Omar Morales via submission (rear-naked choke) – Round 2, 3:31
Mathew Samelsberger vs Martin Sano

Nick Maximov vs Cody Brundage

UFC 266 Preliminary card results:
Roxanne Modafferi vs Taila Santos
Round 1: Both the fighters take the center of the octagon. While Modafferi looked more swift and mobile with her movements, Santos was a bit flat on the foot. Modafferi with a leg kick which is responded with a flurry of punches by Santos. Modafferi suffers for two minutes but manages to get herself on the top. Both the fighters on their feet and Santos with knee shots to end the round.
Round 2: Modafferi working the body with jabs and goes for the takedown. Santos was struggling to stand on her feet as Modafferi wraps her body. Short strikes traded and the fighters back up for a reset. A clean right hand landed by Santos and Modafferi was down. With a decent guard, she manages to get back on her feet. Santos scored a takedown and ends the round on top.
Round 3: Modafferi tried to be the aggressor but Santos’ left hand clipped the fighter. Santos brings down a flurry of punches and another clean left hand to stun her opponent. Santos looked to finish the fight but Modafferi not giving up. Modafferi was bloodied in the face with Santos’ strikes. The fighter still looks to get back up and make something happen. Nothing there. Santos looked for a finish but the bell goes.

Shamil Abdurakhimov vs Chris Daukaus
Round 1: A spinning kick attempt by Shamil misses his opponent. Daukaus looked to put the pressure but Shamil’s timing was excellent as he landed clean shots. Daukaus with a leg kick that swept his opponent to the floor. A good scramble to get back on the feet. A huge left hand for Daukaus and Shamil was dropped. Daukaus couldn’t get the finish as the bell goes off.
Round 2: A spinning back fist from Shamil that Daukaus was attentive to block. Daukaus was the fighter trying to take the center stage as he walked towards his opponent. Chris catches a left hand and counters with a huge right hand. Shamil is on the floor, clearly hurt. Daukaus with a barrage of punches and the fight is over!!! What a finish!

Dan Hooker vs Nasrat Haqparast
Round 1: Haqparast decided to open with a body kick, which lands. Haqparast with few attempts to attack Hooker but all of them blocked. Nasrat managed to land a body kick. Hooker drove in for the takedown and gets it. Wraps the body and manages to knee his opponent. Short punches for the Hangman as the round ends.
Round 2: Jabs and kicks from Hooker landing on the German lightweight. Haqparast tries to counter but Hooker slips well. Hooker clinches his opponent against the cage and lands knees on the body. Haqparast with an uppercut and Hooker was bleeding. A huge takedown for Hooker. Round ends as Hooker takes control.
Round 3: A huge right hand for Haqparast. Hooker manages to slip a lot of huge punches coming his way. Hooker with a takedown and sets up side control. Haqparast used a lot of energy to free himself from the control and get up on his feet. Manages to stand up after a lot of effort but Hooker takes the action to the canvas just like that. Hooker is in full control as he throws punches on his opponent. Fight ends.
Results: Dan Hooker def. Nasrat Haqparast via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-26)
Marlon Moraes vs Merab Dvalishvili:
Round 1: Both the fighters trade mad kicks before trying to use their hands. Dvalishvili with swingers but nothing connects. Moraes defends a takedown for Merab and gets back to the feet. Moraes clipped Dvalishvili and he is hurt real bad. A lot of wobbling from Merab but manages to dictate the pace of the fight. Big shots for Dvalishvili after he recovers from the stunners. Round ends.
Round 2: Despite all the hurting Dvalishvili received, the fighter is deemed to be fit to fight. A huge right hand and takedown for the fighter. Huge elbows from Merab as he controls Moraes on the ground. Dvalishvili was going off and Moraes was helpless. Finally, Marlon was back to his feet only for him to get taken down by Merab once again. Non-stop punches are thrown at Moraes and the referee calls the fight. WHAT A COMEBACK for Dvalishvili!!! An amazing end to UFC 266 preliminary card.
