“When you know you know,” Nate Diaz responds to Julianna Pena restating his famous quote after UFC 269 win
Nate Diaz speaking his classic one-liner
Julianna Pena is a certified badass now, especially after being recognised by Nate Diaz. Pena proved almost all of the MMA world dead wrong about her skills being insufficient against former bantamweight champion Amanda Nunes when she finished the latter via second-round rare naked choke at UFC 269, pulling out possibly the biggest upset in UFC history.
Regardless, Pena kept it simple, straightforward but more so, memorable in her octagon interview when she reacted to her shocking the world with the phrase “I’m not surprised motherf**kers.” The quote was originally spoken by Nate Diaz when he made an upset of his own shocking the world by defeating Conor McGregor back in 2016 at UFC 196.
Julianna Pena gets appreciated by Nate Diaz for the replication, gets congratulated by the latter
In a rather expected turn of events, Pena received her wishes from all over the world that included Nate Diaz as well. Diaz rather showed the Twitter world who the real poet is behind the infamous line “I’m not surprised motherf**ers.” He tweeted reacting to Pena’s octagon interview, Diaz tweeted the video of both him and Pena speaking the line one after the other and captioned it “When you know you know… Congratulations to @VenezuelanVixen #beast [100 emoji]”
Pena is on the top of her world right now. An immediate rematch against the defeated Amanda Nunes, who’s still the featherweight champion of the world, would make the most sense right now. As far as the other players in the game of rankings are concerned, Ketlen Vieira is coming off an impressive win against former UFC champion Miesha Tate. We also have Holly Holm and Irene Aldana at the top of the list.
What did you make of Nate Diaz’s reaction to Julianna Pena? Where do you put Pena’s victory amongst the biggest upsets in MMA history? Do you want Amanda Nunes to get back into the bantamweight title rematch or defend her featherweight title first? How do you see the rematch going though?
