“This is the worst fight ever”- Twitter reacts to the ‘super boring’ strawweight title fight between Carla Esparza and Rose Namajunas at UFC 274
Carla Esparza vs Rose Namajunas at UFC 274
Rose Namajunas and Carla Esparza fought for the women’s strawweight title at the co-main event of UFC 274. These two have fought before at the finale of The Ultimate Fighter Season 20. Rose was a huge favorite to win the fight, but Carla dominated the fight with her aggressive wrestling and submitted her to get the win.
Their first fight took place back in 2014, and both of them have grown leaps and bounds as a fighter. Rose stayed in the title contention and snatched the title from the clutches of Zhang Weili. She defended it against her, and Carla fought her way to the top to get a rematch against her.
Fans were really excited for this fight, and they thought it’d a great technical scrap. But, after five rounds of absolutely nothing, some declared it the worst fight of this century. Rose and Carla hesitated to engage, and for the most part, they just stood there and did nothing to make anything work.
Carla initiated some wrestling exchanges that steered the judges’ decision in her favor, and she became the champion with a split decision win.
