Marc posted a picture on his Twitter account of the two light heavyweight giants touching gloves. In the replies, a fan asked him about Jiri’s tapping and Goddard did not hesitate to explain to his followers why he allowed the fight to continue despite the tapping. “Lol. Jiri was actually congratulating & encouraging his opponent!” said Marc in his tweet.

“He done it a couple of times and I told him it’s a risky game lol! But it’s very clear what he was doing and intending. Lets celebrate the incredible feat from both gentleman,” ended Goddard in his tweet. Both Jiri and Glover showed the utmost respect for each other. The two fighters proved there need not be trash talk involved for fans to be entirely invested in a fight.

The fight was so evenly poised right until the final 40 seconds of the fifth round. Marc did an excellent job last night. The ref had to make a very swift decision in the preliminary card when Hayisaer Maheshate KO’d Steve Garcia. Marc was perfect with his decision in that fight to call it off.
