“A good problem to have” Dan Hooker talks about possible fight against teammate Alexander Volkanovski
Dan Hooker talks about fighting Alexander Volkanovski in the future
Dan Hooker moving to the featherweight division means he would have to cross paths with his dear teammate Alexander Volkanovski, in case he wants to pursue an ambition to the belt.
UFC fan-favorite, Dan Hooker decided it would be the right decision to step down to his old weight class at 145 pounds after his recent skid in the lightweight division. After going 2-3 in the lightweight division, and losing against some of the top contenders, Hooker decided to move down a weight class.
Hooker will find some familiar faces in the featherweight division as his teammate from City Kickboxing, Alexander Volkanovski is crowned the champion of the division. Ahead of his fight against Arnold Allen at UFC London this weekend, Dan talks about this probable fight. “There’s a lot of work to be done before even that’s a conversation that needs to be had,” said Hooker in the pre-fight press conference.

Dan Hooker says he is not worried about his future problems
Dan will be facing Arnold Allen who is on an 8 fight win streak in the co-main event of UFC Fight Night: Volkov vs Aspinall. The Hangman is coming off a loss against Islam Makhachev at UFC 267 after taking the fight on short notice. His last win comes against Nasrat Haqparast at UFC 266. Dan won the fight via a comfortable unanimous decision.
Talking about meeting Volkanovski in the featherweight division, Hooker says he still has a long way to go before he gets there. Allen is ranked #7 in the list and will be taking on Hooker. “I’ve still got Arnold Allen. He [Alex Volkanovski] has got Korean Zombie, and then Max Holloway,” said Dan.
“It is a good problem to have. When you and your mate are so good that there is no one else to decide who the best in the world is. I’m not going to be worried about a future problem.” Watch the Dan’s full press conference below:
