UFC bantamweight champion Aljamain Sterling is one intensively competitive man that wants all the gold, as a champion and in the eyes of some part of the MMA community, as an actor as well. Sterling, who is the undisputed champion is going to face Petr Yan, the interim bantamweight champion in a title unification rematch at UFC 273 taking place this weekend in VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena, Jacksonville, Florida, the USA.
In the first fight back in March 2021, Sterling faced Yan as a title challenger at UFC 259. In the fourth round of the fight, Yan threw an illegal knee at Sterling’s face when the latter was on the ground which resulted in a win via disqualification for Sterling. Since that time, a good part of the MMA community has called Sterling’s reaction to the damage taken on the head ‘acting’ to which Sterling has replied outrageously time and again. Regardless, to settle the score of the first fight, Sterling has vowed to prove all the doubters wrong that he is inferior to Yan as a fighter in this aforementioned rematch.

In an interview with Fox Sports Australia, Sterling talks about his intentions going into the rematch against Yan and also gave his response to those people who call his response to getting hurt via illegal knee from Yan as acting back in UFC 259.
“I don’t know based on what can actually make people think that you know,” says Sterling “So it’s like to me at this point it’s just like I just have fun with it. It’s like ‘you really think that was an act?’ Okay. Then give me my nomination and I can’t wait to accept my awards at the Oscars, so that’s really all you can do because at this point it’s just words coming from people that have no experience for the most part…” continues Sterling.
