Islam Makhachev and Rafael Dos Anjos
The feud between Rafael dos Anjos and Islam Makhachev continues as both the fighters are not willing to back down. Recently, Charles Oliveira called out Nate Diaz and claimed that he can fight Diaz and Conor McGregor on the same night. This statement prompted Makhachev who has been asking for the title shot for a long time now to react.
Makhachev made a tweet tagging Oliveira for him to call out Diaz who has not won a single fight in the last five years but asking Makhachev to win more fights. Makhachev pointed out Oliviera’s hypocrisy and called him out for being scared. Makhachev also claimed that Oliviera’s Jiu Jitsu will not help the fighter during their fight.
“@CharlesDoBronxs it’s funny you calling out Nate who hasn’t won a fight in years and same time saying I have to earn something…just say it straight that you scared to lose., your jiu jitsu won’t work in our fight and you know that,” wrote Makhachev.
Rafael dos Anjos taunts Islam Makhachev for calling out Charles Oliveira
After that tweet was made by Makhachev, dos Anjos took this opportunity to jump in and reminded him about Beneil Dariush. He wrote :
“Beneil is waiting for you.”
Makhachev and Dariush were earlier scheduled to fight each other on Feb 26 at UFC Fight Night 202. But later, Dariush pulled out from the fight after suffering a severe ankle injury. Bobby Green came in as a short notice replacement but lost to Makhachev via TKO.
Makhachev didn’t remain silent and replied back dos Anjos by explaining that he was ready to fight Dariush in February. He was also ready to fight dos Anjos twice but he didn’t show up. Makhachev then asked dos Anjos to shut up.
“I was there on Feb 26 for Beniel, and was there twice for you on Oct 24 2020 and Oct 30 21, but you never showed up. So shut your mouth you mcchicken slap boy,” wrote Makhachev.
The lightweight division is currently going through a whole lot of confusion as UFC is not providing any strong announcements regarding the match-ups. It will be interesting to see how things will turn out and who will challenge ‘ Do Bronx’ for the vacated lightweight title.
