The UFC Light Heavyweight division witnessed a major shake of things at UFC 267. The number one ranked Light Heavyweight fighter, Glover Teixeira defeated the former champion, Jan Blachowicz, and captured the throne of the UFC Light Heavyweight division. The number second-ranked Light Heavyweight fighter, Jiri Prochazka was serving as the backup fighter for this main event.
Although, Prochazka didn’t get a chance to fight in the main event of UFC 267, but after Glover Teixeira won the belt, Prochazka’s name was the first that came out for his next opponent. The former UFC two-division champion, Daniel Cormier asked Glover Teixeira about his thoughts on his fight against Jiri Prochazka.
To which he replied that it is for sure an exciting fight but he wants to cherish this moment of becoming the champion before getting back inside the Octagon again. This scenario is soothing for Prochazka as after his win against Dominick Reyes his name is next for the title shot but the number third-ranked UFC Light Heavyweight fighter, Aleksandar Rakic isn’t that much pleased with this whole scenario.
Rakic holds a record of 6-1 inside UFC and he has been calling out Jiri Prochazka for a very long time to face him for the number one contender fight and Prochazka being handed out title fight before him doesn’t appear very pleasing to him.
The UFC president Dana White also said in one of his recent interviews with TMZ Sports, that Prochazka is most probably next for the UFC Light Heavyweight title shot.

Aleksandar Rakic was targeted to face Anthony Smith in December as this was revealed by Smith in his interview with Ariel Helwani for MMA hour, but Smith pulled out his name due to knee injury and now the promotion is looking for another fighter for him.
According to Rakic, Jiri Prochazka was offered the number one contender fight against him two days ago but he hasn’t replied yet. Prochazka will be coming on today’s episode of MMA hour, and tagging Helwani’s story, Rakic slams him by saying,
“Ask him why is he ducking to fight for the #1 Contender when he got offered the fight two days ago? Samurai my a*s and I am the one who is declining to fight? I don’t think so. The time will come when I cut that ugly Czech flag sh*t off his head.”
