The main event of UFC 266 will be headlined by two of the best featherweights on earth. The champion Alexander Volkanovski will take on the challenger Brian Ortega, and things are pretty heated between these two.
Their rivalry started when they featured as the coaches for The Ultimate Fighter 29, Volkanovski was annoyed by Ortega’s unprofessionalism, and he called him out a number of times.
Now during the final press conference before the fight, Volkanovski took a shot at Ortega’s past, he said, “I didn’t know about you popping. That sh*t don’t sit well with me. You don’t deserve to be here. Mate, you’re a f*cking drug cheat.” This was a nod to Ortega’s failed drug test at UFC on FOX 12. He was suspended for using drostanolone, which is a PED.

Ortega later apologized for using banned substances, but Volkanovski thinks he is still the same.

Volkanovski brought up the “unprofessionalism” that Ortega brings to his training camps. He believes it shows how weak he is. During a heated exchange in the press conference. Alex said, “What upsets me the most is unprofessional.”
He added, “I’ve put the hard yards in my whole life, especially in this career. That’s how I got this belt. And he half-asses it, turns up training late. You name it. Obviously, showing weakness a few years back, popping, producing, you know what I mean? Sh*t like that. That sh*t annoys me. It’s not unprofessional, and I ain’t about that sh*t.”
