“His opinion stinks and it sucks,” Aljamain Sterling goes off on John McCarthy for scoring the fight in favor of Petr Yan in rematch
Aljamain Sterling fires shots at John McCarthy
Aljamain Sterling goes off on MMA analyst John McCarthy for his opinion on the scoring of Sterling vs Yan 2 at UFC 273. The bantamweight champion does not respect the opinion of the former referee one bit.
Aljamain Sterling just can’t catch a break. From getting trolled for not being a legitimate champion to now people believing the rematch was wrongly scored, Sterling has not had the best of runs against Petr Yan. At UFC 273, Sterling was presented with a chance to prove to the world that he is a legitimate champion of the bantamweight division and he proved all his doubters wrong.
Sterling won the fight via unanimous decision but the MMA community was split into two halves over who won the first round of the fight which actually ended up being the decider. Former referee, MMA broadcaster, John McCarthy believed Sterling didn’t win the fight and in his recent appearance on The MMA Hour, Aljamain did not hold back his anger.
“Dude, go get a clue,” said Sterling on the show. “I don’t know how this guy is the blueprint standard of MMA because that guy sucks. His opinion stinks and he sucks. He just says sh*t and I think he just wants people to think he knows what he’s talking about.”
Aljamain Sterling slams Josh Thompson for defending John McCarthy
“What has he ever accomplished other than trying to judge people and being completely wrong about the scoring criteria of the fight? If you want to have an opinion, have an opinion, John. It doesn’t mean you’re correct. Because you are not going by the criteria of how you score a fight,” said Sterling on MMA Hour about John McCarthy.
Following his outrage on the show hosted by Ariel Helwani, John’s partner on the show, the ‘Weighing In’ show called out Sterling for his selective outrage. McCarthy wasn’t the only prominent figure in the sport who believed Sterling lost the fight, UFC boss, Dana White also said in the press conference that he thought Yan won.
“Josh…respectfully. GTFO my [nuts] You and John can go blow each other in the back studio for all I care…I sh*t on Dana’s opinion too. Now have a sh*tty day,” wrote Sterling in his tweet. Watch Aljamain Sterling on the MMA Hour below:
