The fighter yesterday successfully made weight in the official weigh-ins but couldn’t control his emotions. The fighter broke down as he stood on the scale. In the post-weigh-ins show, Sterling explained to Paul Felder the reason behind his emotions.

Sterling took on Petr Yan at UFC 259 in a title fight. The fighter went down after receiving an illegal knee to the face as he was already on the ground. The fighter was determined to fight in a rematch to win the belt in a legitimate way. However following his win at UFC 259, Sterling has not stepped into the octagon for a year now.
He was scheduled to take on Yan in a title rematch but an injury stopped that fight from happening. Sterling went through surgery and successfully recovered from his neck injury. The fighter was very disheartened by it and thought his career was over after the injury. “I was having some trouble to get through the training room. I got through that hurdle and here I am, man. It is a blessing.” said Sterling.
“For me, it was an emotional dream come true because I felt like the music had stopped. I’m just glad I got another opportunity.” Do you think Sterling can retain his belt at UFC 273?
