“He got one f***ing move on me,” Ben Askren claims that Jorge Masvidal win was a fluke
Ben Askren
We all remember Jorge Masvidal’s sensational flying knee knockout against former One Championship champ, Ben Askren. That one move made Masvidal an overnight star, he reached the heights of success because of that fight, and Askren has too pointed out that this was the fight that changed Masvidal’s life.
Ben is a very decorated wrestler, and his performances in the One Championship circuit have been nothing but dominant, he holds a win over the former welterweight champion Robbie Lawler, and he believes if he were to fight Masvidal again, the result would be a lot more different.
In his recent interview on the Lex Fridman podcast, he said, “He got one f***ing move on me. It’s not he beat me and if we do that again I think I win at that point in my life, for sure. I think I win way more times than I lose. He knew that too, that’s why he didn’t sign the bout agreement and that’s why I had to taunt him and why he got so mad because I had to continue to taunt him in order to get him to sign.”
Ben Askren talks about not being in the G.O.A.T conversation anymore
Askren was once included in Joe Rogan’s list of G.O.A.T, but he failed to live up to everyone’s expectations, and Askren addressed this issue in his recent interview. He said it’s his own fault that he is not even in the conversation anymore, and he should have went out there and proved it to the world.
He claimed, “I didn’t prove it. I don’t deserve it… So it’s like had I somehow gotten to convince Dana White we go and convince him in 2013 to make me an offer. And I didn’t even need a good offer, I needed any offer. Had I gotten the offer then, maybe the outcome’s different, right. But given, I would never expect anyone to think of me that way. I didn’t prove it. I know, I know what I was and I am good with that. And yeah, other people never got to see that.”
