UFC is the world’s largest MMA promotion and a dream platform for many aspiring fighters. Similarly, Carlos Prates is only now making a name for himself in the promotion. As such, the fighter recently received his first fight bonus at the KFC Yum! Center in Louisville. Moreover, the Brazilian fighter was doing something ‘specific’ when he learned of the $50K bonus.
In a new viral video, Carlos Prates took a cigarette break with his team following the bout. At the exact moment, the fighter learned that he had gotten the Performance of the Night bonus. The Brazilian was overjoyed and celebrated the news by embracing his teammates. This demonstrates how important fight bonuses are for young and rookie fighters.
Other than Prates, three other fighters took home the Performance of the Night bonus, including Raul Rosas Jr, Zachary Reese, and Brunno Ferreira. However, the only finish that wasn’t given the bonus prize was the controversial finish by Nassourdine Imavov over Jared Cannonier in the main event.
Prates demonstrated his striking prowess against opponent Charlie Radtke in the welterweight division. He set up a perfectly placed knee to the body that dropped Radtke. This caused the referee to step in at the last minute of the first round. The win has given a lot of confidence to the fighter already making big claims.
