“He’s a big talker, but to me is a façade,” Brendan Allen targets a rematch against Sean Strickland in early 2022
Brendan Allen and Sean Strickland
The UFC Middleweight fighter, Brendan Allen is booked to face Chris Curtis in the main card of UFC Vegas 44. Allen is coming into this fight riding a two fights win streak with his latest win coming against Punahele Soriano at UFC on ESPN: Sandhagen vs Dillashaw. Brendan Allen wants to be one of the rising prospects in the Middleweight division and he wants to make the best of his career.
Allen has faced one loss in his UFC career that too came against the number 7th ranked UFC Middleweight fighter, Sean Strickland at UFC Fight Night: Felder vs Dos Anjos. Now he wants very well that this is the fight that stands in his way to get the title shot.
Talking about his fight against Curtis on the UFC Vegas 44 media day, Brendan Allen says, “I feel I’m the best, so I should be able to beat anybody in the world, especially when I have a camp, and I’m training and I’m ready to go. Everything is sharp, and I should be able to make the adjustments if I have to and get the W.”
“I feel like I do everything better than him. Of course, like everyone else, you have to be cautious. Everyone has a puncher’s chance. I feel pretty tough with any punch that I see coming, but you never know. Obviously, the goal is to make him miss and make him pay for that.” {H/t MMA Junkie}
“I hope to see Darren Till next year,” Brendan Allen targets a fight against Till next year
Sean Strickland is targeting a fight against any top five Middleweight fighter next and Brendan Allen is very well aware that Strickland isn’t going to fight him right now. But he believes his rematch against Sean Strickland is eventually going to happen,
Allen added, “I think we all know he’s not going to take it again, which, if I’m being a businessman, OK, it doesn’t make sense right now. Eventually, the fight will make sense. I don’t know, man. He’s a big talker, but to me is a facade. I don’t like him. I don’t like him as a person, and I don’t care for him. I think that’s what makes it real rough.”
Although after passing the test against Curtis he wants to face Darren Till next year. He concluded, “I hope to see Darren Till next year, that’s one I would really like. That’s my plan. But obviously, my plans don’t mean too much if they don’t line up with the matchmaking.” {H/t MMA Junkie}
