“Play stupid games, win stupid prizes,” Brendan Schaub details Chael Sonnen’s recent detention on 5 battery citations
Brendan Schaub- Chael Sonnen
MMA Legend Chael Sonnen has been going through some rough times recently considering his detention by the Las Vegas Police in the Four Seasons Hotel last Saturday night. The detention which was first reported by TMZ Sports had the witnesses telling that Sonnen was banging the door of a hotel room when suddenly a couple show up in the hallway, sometime after which the altercation with the male counterpart becomes physical. Somehow, the whole scenario ended up Sonnen battering 5 people which led to his detention but didn’t escalate into an arrest.
Since then, no one has heard from Chael’s side of the entire incident probably until now. Sonnen has been friends with former UFC heavyweight and is currently a comedian and podcaster, Brendan Schaub. With that relationship, Schaub has revealed some exclusive details about what happened at Four Seasons, Las Vegas and also pointed out why the incident is nothing close to Sonnen’s rival Jon Jones’ experience with his conviction for domestic violence.

Schaub posts a clip of his podcast “Below The Belt with Brendan Schaub” in which he talks about the details of Sonnen’s detention as told to him by Sonnen himself. The tweet was captioned “If your man won’t do what @ChaelSonnen did when his wife was disrespected ladies ya got a girlfriend not man.”
“So there’s news on Chael Sonnen, I spoke to Chael,” said Schaub “Here’s what happened, Chael was obviously working and he was with his wife, and his wife is a f**ing Saint. Some drunk with his girl, kept making comments about her t*ts, her a*s, right in front of him. Well, play stupid games, win stupid prizes because you’re disrespecting one of the toughest guys on the planet and definitely one of the toughest to ever compete in the UFC or Bellator for that matter,” he continued.
“This is not a case of Chael hitting his wife like Jon [Jones] did. This is not a case of Chael [Sonnen], being high and wrecking his Bentley with strippers in the car. This is not the case of Chael domestic violence in any facet. He’s in Vegas, he’s walking to his room, a drunk guy and girl start talking s*it to his girl. The guy keeps commenting on his girl and her looks and you’re [now] dealing up with a guy’s guy in Chael [Sonnen] who stuck up for his girl and beat the s*it out of this guy.”
In the end, Schaub concluded, “If your man isn’t willing to do that, then he ain’t s*it.” What are your thoughts on the details of Chael Sonnen’s detention now Brendan Schaub claims to have talked to him and has revealed the details of the incident? It’s morally unethical to talk ill about anyone’s wife or girlfriend, but it’s a whole another escalation if a fighter’s partner gets disrespected like that.
