Two of UFC’s most exciting flyweight fighters are ready to run things back for the third time. The first pay-per-view event of 2022 will see the trilogy of Deiveson Figueiredo and Brandon Moreno. Only this time, Henry Cejudo, the former flyweight and bantamweight champion is backing the Brazilian to win back his belt.

Deiveson and Brandon have fought each other twice in the past. The first time both fought was at the main event of UFC 256 where the bout ended in a draw giving Figueiredo a title defense. In 2021, at the co-main event of UFC 263, Moreno created history by becoming the first-ever Mexican champion in the UFC by choking out the Brazilian flyweight champ.

This time, for the trilogy, Deiveson has partnered with Henry Cejudo to help him train. With Cejudo in the mix-up, things have gotten personal as Cejudo and Moreno go a long way back to The Ultimate Fighter 24. Cejudo and Moreno trained together prior to TUF 24 but due to unfortunate circumstances, Moreno was picked by Joseph Benavidez and the Mexican flyweight ended up helping Joesph train to beat “Triple C”.

In a recent Instagram live with “haymakers”, the Brazilian spoke about his bond with Henry and what he plans on doing ahead of the trilogy. “When I go to fight ready, they told me Moreno lived with Cejudo, trained with Cejudo, and bought his whole family. Then he goes to help a guy that is about to fight Cejudo? That is unacceptable to me,” said Deiveson in the chat.

Deiveson said, Henry Cejudo had a message for him ahead of the trilogy and it was to bring “Triple C” the Mexican flyweight’s head. Figueiredo is heading into the trilogy not only to defend his but also Cejudo’s honor as a fighter. Moreno on the other hand is determined to make a statement in the trilogy by finishing the Brazilian once again. Do you think the extra motivation from Henry will help Deiveson to win back his belt?
