Alexander Volkanovski is the current featherweight champion and is on his way to becoming one of the greatest to ever do it in the UFC. The Australian fighter was initially booked to fight his fierce rival Max Holloway in a much-anticipating trilogy. The fight was booked for UFC 272 but the Hawaain featherweight backed out due to an injury.

There has been a line of fighters that are ready to fill in on the short notice. One fighter in that long line is retired two-division champion Henry Cejudo who has called out both, Dana White and the featherweight champion to book the fight. During his call out, Volk’s teammate, Kai Kara France replied, “Stay retired mate! Trust me, You don’t want Volk walking you down!” in Henry’s Twitter mentions.

Cejudo, before he retired, was the former flyweight and bantamweight champion. His last fight in the UFC was in April of 2020 at UFC 249 where he defended his bantamweight belt against the stunning Dominick Cruz via a first-round knockout. The Champ Champ wants to come back and become the world’s first three-division champion.

Henry Cejudo says he is not afraid of “Hugbee player” Alexander Volkanovski

Henry Cejudo vs Dominick Cruz

Cejudo is not one to back down from a good Twitter banter. The New-Zealand flyweight fighter got the attention of “Triple C”. “You think a hugbee player scares me! I’ll be walking him down with my fist and takedowns,” wrote Cejudo in response to Kara France’s reply.

Cejudo has always been teasing a return to the UFC for quite some time now. The fighter retired from professional fighting believing he had achieved everything he had to. In his professional combat sports career, Henry became the UFC flyweight champion, the UFC bantamweight champion, and he is also a proud Olympic Gold Medalist in wrestling.

Cejudo has a record of 16-2-0 in his career and believes he has a battle worthy of returning from retirement. Alexander, however, has still not given his stance on fighting Cejudo. Instead, Alexander Volkanovski called out Chan Sung Jung.
