Bryan Barberena and Robbie Lawler

Bryan Barberena wants Robbie Lawler next! Bryan who’s now 17-8 in his overall MMA career, took the razor-close split decision victory against Matt Brown. Even though Ohio didn’t get the favored results the two UFC welterweights put on an all-time classic showdown on the ESPN 33 main card. Both were swinging wild punches but Barberena had the edge with counter punching and took that win.

When asked about his next matchup, Barberena said “If the UFC wants me, I’ll put on some more action you know, and I believe that I do that every single time I fight and I think people can count on that.

Bryan Barberena who had a really intense fight with ‘The Immortal’ Matt Brown said that fighting Robbie Lawler would be an ‘Awesome matchup’ and would love to test himself against the ex-champ and see if he can get the job done while also giving the fans an exciting event to tune into or attend.

Robbie Lawler on the other hand who is coming off of a TKO victory in his 17-years-in-the-making rematch with Nick Diaz at UFC 266 talks about how he learned from the first Nick fight and how he also brought up the best in him.

“He brought the best out of me, but it didn’t really change anything. 17-years later—I mean, I won this time, he still beat me last time. I learned a lot from that first fight, and it’s gotten me to where I am today. So, I wouldn’t change anything.”

He then continues to talk about several different things like his early days in the sport and longevity and reveals his plans for the future. “I’m kind of just working on my skills, trying to get stronger, and those types of things. The UFC will come to me with something good and I’ll be back in there.” After Bryan’s callout and a banger of a performance, Robbie might just be interested in this fight after all, will he find it as exciting and decide to take it? Time will tell.
