After a more than dominating display at UFC Vegas 11 against Tyron Woodley, Colby Covington has made some headlines. He lately suggests that the much spoken about Nick Diaz is also on his hit list. And if Covington gets a chance to fight him, he might end his career to send him in retirement for good. Covington has always been vocal enough to make himself visible for his former as well as potential opponents. Covington is more than happy in shifting gears by fighting Nick Diaz in future.

With Diaz teasing a return in 2021, Covington said he would be more than willing to welcome him back. Even though he has his sights set on UFC welterweight champion Kamaru Usman and Jorge Masvidal.

Talking to ESPN at his post-match interview, Covington suggested he would love to fight Nick Diaz. To be precise he said, He’s (Nick Diaz) a high-pressure fighter. I’d love to fight him and it would be an easy fight. I’d definitely retire him just like I retired Tyron Woodley (on Saturday). Nick Diaz would never fight again, I promise you, after I got done with him.”

However, both Usman Masvidal currently are booked. Usman is scheduled to face Gilbert Burns in December and Masvidal is linked to a potential Nate Diaz rematch, also in December.

Covington spoke about a match against Masvidal and said he vs Masvidal can be a bigger spectacle than Nick Diaz scheduled. Covington said, “Everybody knows Nate Diaz is done. He hasn’t been relevant in five, six years. The guy fights once every couple of years. He’s got nothing left in the tank. He’s had so many fights. He shouldn’t even be fighting anymore. It’s a shame. His coaches, I feel bad that they let him go in the octagon anymore. So they need to do this fight with me and Jorge.”

Covington concluded by saying he is not all about talks and if Masvidal agrees to fight against him, he could surely show what he is capable off.
