Joe Rogan is an integral part of the UFC and has been in the promotion as a commentator for more than 20 years. However, in one of his podcasts, the 56 year old, mentioned that he was blown away when he first rented UFC #2 and saw it.
He said: “I didn’t find out about the UFC until UFC #2. I rented it, like blockbuster or something and I was immediately like ‘Oh my god’. It was an eye opening experience because I was a kickboxer. I was a stand up fighter, a striker. Then I was just watching this guy grab a hold of people and get them to the ground. I’m like ‘Is it that easy?’.Then I went to Jiu-jitsu classes and got mauled.”
According to Rogan, he came from a kickboxing background and was surprised by fighters grabbing and throwing each other randomly inside the octagon. Rogan revealed that he got curious and joined BJJ training, and even after being good at stand-up, he got destroyed by BJJ athletes.

Joe Rogan talks about normal people vs professional fighters in a streetfights
Rogan often discusses real-life fighting scenarios, and in the same video, he talked about how a fight between fighters and normal people can go. Joe explained that they mostly have a delusion that they can fight their way through determination against a professional fighter in a street fight.
However, Joe Rogan mentioned that a normal individual would be helpless, and for a professional fighter, it would be like fighting a small child.
He said: “Most people have this idea in their head,’ oh my f****** mentality. I see red, bodies start dropping.’ Dude, you are helpless. You are child to someone who knows how to fight.” Rogan has a great deal of knowledge when it comes to combat sports and it would be very wise to take his advice when it comes to street fighting scenarios.
