Conor McGregor charged with 6 offences for infamous traffic violations in Dublin last month
Conor McGregor
Looks like UFC megastar Conor McGregor might be getting off the wheels for a while, quite literally. McGregor, the former 2-division champion, last fought at UFC 264– a trilogy against Dustin which he lost due to a doctor stoppage resulting from a fractured shin bone. Since that time in July 2021, McGregor has fully recovered and started his mixed martial arts training. On his return, McGregor is wishing to fight current UFC welterweight champion, Kamaru Usman, for a third division UFC title added to his legacy.
As recently as the last month, McGregor was arrested in Dublin for traffic violations resulting from speeding his vehicle. Although McGregor passed the drug and alcohol test at the station there as told by McGregor’s spokesperson Karen Kessler to ESPN MMA at the time of the incident, the Irish mixed martial artist has regardless, invited some major legal troubles.
Conor McGregor’s case is to be remanded until June 23 after his last court appearance
As reported by ESPN Correspondent Marc Raimondi, McGregor has been charged with six offences for the aforementioned incident. As per Raimondi’s article “The UFC star appeared Thursday in Blanchardstown District Court and was informed he is being charged with two counts of dangerous driving, driving without a license, failure to produce a license, driving without insurance and failure to produce insurance records, a court spokesperson told ESPN.” [h/t ESPN MMA]
Furthermore, “The case will be remanded until June 23, per the court. McGregor was arrested March 22 in the Palmerstown section of Dublin for the alleged driving offences.”
McGregor is the by-far the highest-paid athlete in MMA history as well as Forbes’ highest-paid athlete of 2021. Who do you think McGregor will make his return back in the Octagon against? Who do you think will win between the welterweight champion Kamaru Usman and McGregor if that fight happens? While McGregor has that ability to find his openings quickly and knock his opponent out in a matter of seconds, Usman is a complete package as a prolific grappler and a dangerous striker to deal with.
