“Outboxed 3 guys on this list!” Conor McGregor claims over multiple UFC fighters as the best boxer in MMA
Jose Aldo-Conor McGregor-Nate Diaz-Max Holloway
UFC megastar Conor McGregor can’t wait to get back to the Octagon and it’s very much evident from the nature of his tweets on Twitter. McGregor is nowhere near to coming back to Octagon as of now but he makes sure that he stays relevant as a matchup for any fighter across the lightweight, welterweight or even featherweight division.
McGregor last fought at UFC 264 against Dustin Poirier where he lost via first-round doctor stoppage due to the sudden fracture of shin bone resulting from a badly executed teep kick. Since then McGregor is not close to coming back to the Octagon but we might soon see the “Notorious” one inside a boxing ring for a wheelchair boxing match for charity. As of now here is McGregor targeting his former opponents and that includes some major names.
Conor McGregor subtly calls out Dustin Poirier, Max Holloway, Jose Aldo and Nate Diaz for their boxing in MMA
A fan of combat sports posted on Twitter his list of best boxers in MMA which included Max Holloway, Jose Aldo, Nate Diaz, Petr Yan and then Conor McGregor himself. It’s important to note that McGregor has a win over everyone including the name he mentions in his tweet, except for Petr Yan.
McGregor retweeted that post and additionally quoted “I outboxed 3 guys on this list! There’s no one even remotely close to my boxing in the ufc. Even Dustin only got shots off post the leg damage. Everyone has been pucked around by me if we are going off boxing. Yan is good tho, i like his style. I’d rip him up in that shell tho.” Though not in the list, Dustin Poirier was in McGregor’s tweet for sure.
To pick out and retweet a random list of boxers in MMA must’ve something to do with where McGregor’s road ahead in MMA takes off. This can be, although not very feasible, a callout for a rematch with any of the aforementioned fighters. Regardless, he also called out interim UFC bantamweight champion Petr Yan. There might need to be an answer as to why McGregor goes back and forth with these fighters and that too all at once.
