UFC superstar Conor McGregor is widely known for his trash-talking and brash behavior in the UFC. His meteoric rise to stardom is also followed by a few controversies. The Irish fighter has many times been part of a brawl and injured people outside the octagon. However, Conor McGregor was once in deep waters with the Irish cartel after one of his brawls.

In 2017, a brawl took place at the Black Forge Inn in Crumlin, in which Conor McGregor was allegedly involved. According to reports, during the incident, McGregor assaulted a young man and a relative of a senior member of the Kinahan drug cartel, one of Ireland’s most powerful organized crime syndicates. Despite McGregor’s notoriety, the Irish media covered the incident without directly naming him. Instead, they reported on a well-known Irish celebrity who was rumored to have been involved in the brawl, leaving readers to draw their own conclusions.

McGregor later posted a photo on Instagram covering his face with a hoodie and captioned, “The celebrity”. With no registered complaints of the bar brawl, the former champ was still in danger, according to an Irish crime reporter. A bounty of €900,000 was said to be placed on McGregor’s head. It was either pay the bounty as protection money or risk getting murdered by the syndicate for the Irish fighter.

However, Conor McGregor’s antics show that he was least worried about the bounty. McGregor was seen making the same gestures from his Instagram post and yelling, “Come and get me,” while driving away. Although McGregor’s antics might hint at something, his father, Tony McGregor, dismissed all the claims. Tony claimed no one was after their family and called it an absolute nonsense story.

Conor McGregor has never been one to shy away from making bold and controversial statements. The Irish fighter, due to his bold and brash behavior, allegedly punched a guy in the bar. The person was unexpectedly connected to the Kinahan cartel, a prominent crime group, based in Dublin. McGregor was rumored to be in trouble with the Irish cartel. There was also a bounty worth € 900,000 placed on McGregor’s head following the incident.

The rumors of this incident spread like wildfire and Floyd Mayweather used this opportunity to take a jibe at Conor. ” I already f**ked you up in 2017, now they about to f**k you up in 2018. You’re about to start your new year with a bang,” posted Floyd on his Twitter. Conor McGregor had something to say as well.

The Irish fighter posted another tweet, calling himself the mafia. ” I am the cartel,” wrote McGregor on Twitter, almost claiming that he is untouchable in Ireland.
