Conor McGregor is in Rome right now. The Irishman is in the capital of Italy to collect his Lamborghini Yacht which he ordered a year ago. And guess who he caught up with? The Special One himself – Jose Mourinho. ‘The Notorious’ and Mou – a clash of interesting personas. It just couldn’t get better than this.

Taking to Instagram, Jose Mourinho expressed his pleasure after having met Conor McGregor. Having offered the AS Roma jersey to McGregor, he was, in turn, asked to try Proper No. 12 whiskey. The meeting comes just weeks after McGregor’s rival Khabib Nurmagomedov caught up with Sir Alex Ferguson – yet another former Manchester United manager.

An excited Mourinho wrote on Instagram, “Yes it’s him! Yes, the great @thenotoriousmma is in Rome and yes it was a real pleasure to meet him, to share some stories and to offer him the most beautiful shirt in town @officialasroma. He made a miracle, it’s impossible to say no to Conor, I had to try @properwhiskey. LEGENDA.”

Having gotten off to a good start, Mourinho’s Roma have fizzled out. They were running the show until they faced Hellas Verona FC in Matchday 4. Since then they have won two and lost two, with the most recent fixture against Juventus FC ending in favour of the Turin-based club.

As for McGregor, he has been recovering from the ankle injury he suffered during his trilogy fight against Dustin Poirier at UFC 264. He is expected to make a comeback in the second week of January (2022).
