Conor McGregor

Conor McGregor is undoubtedly the biggest star and cash cow UFC has ever produced. The five highest PPVs in UFC history had Conor in them. Conor last fought in July 2021 against Dustin Poirier where he suffered a leg break at the end of the very first round. Conor has been sitting on the sideline ever since in rehab. Recently footage of Conor hitting the mits showcasing his head movement came out.

Conor has been eyeing his return for a few months now. Ideally, according to his tweet, he would want to move up and fight the welterweight champion, Kamaru Usman. Conor’s upcoming opponent is going to be an interesting one. It remains to be seen whether he will fight in lightweight or welterweight.

Current reigning and defending UFC featherweight champion of the world Alexander Volkanovski doesn’t see Conor McGregor high up on the featherweight GOAT list. At the UFC 273 media day, he was quoted as saying “But then again, I feel like I did a lot more for him so for all the champions, I would say he should be at the bottom of the list. He would not like that but anything.

Conor has never defended any of his titles he won at the featherweight and the lightweight divisions. Conor is not going to like what Alexandr had to say about him.

He is yet to react to this statement. A featherweight bout between Conor and Alexander Volkanovski would be interesting as both of them are elite strikers and match well on the ground. Both of these fighters have beaten former champion, Max Holloway, in the past. It remains to be seen if we will ever get this fantasy matchup.
